Maureen S. Lecaro, Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Lecaro, a native New Yorker who grew up in Queens, attended Yale University in New Haven, CT, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Italian Language and Literature. After graduation, she decided to gain experience in the animal care field prior to applying to veterinary school. This included working as a Wildlife Care Manager at the Wild Bird Fund, as well as a Veterinary Assistant at VCA Park East Animal Hospital, where she stayed until moving to Massachusetts to attend the Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Lecaro graduated Tufts Veterinary School in May 2017, and went on to complete a Rotating Internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at the Veterinary Referral and Emergency Group in Brooklyn. She joined our team as an Associate Veterinarian in August of 2018 and is thrilled to be back in her hometown of New York and to once again be a part of the VCA Park East team. Dr. Lecaro's special interests include surgery and ultrasound. When she is not at work, Dr. Lecaro enjoys movies, restaurants, and spending time with her family in Queens and her dog, Bailey.
