Jessica Ramirez, Staff Veterinarian

Dr. Jessica Ramirez was born in Queens, New York and was raised in South Florida. She obtained her Bachelor's degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry and Psychology from the University of Miami. Afterwards, she went to Michigan State University, where she earned her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2010. Following graduation, she completed a one year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Affiliated Veterinary Specialists in Maitland, Florida.

Since then she has been practicing in South Florida and joined VCA Pines West Animal Hospital in January 2013. She has a special interest in internal medicine, emergency and critical care, and soft tissue surgery. Dr. Ramirez is fluent in Spanish and enjoys yoga, scuba diving, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She has three four legged children: a beautiful pit bull named Crystal, a playful lab mix named Marlin, and a sweet kitten named Rey.
