Our Hospital

At Glen Animal Hospital, we look forward to welcoming you and your pets. We've been the neighborhood animal hospital in Sea Cliff for over 50 years. Everyone on our staff believes in the importance of patient care and client communicaion. We'll give you and your pet all the time you need, and never rush through an exam. We will also carefully track the course of your pet's care, which is so important to your pet's long-term health.

You and your pet will be assisted by experienced, knowledgeable members of our staff. Our veterinarians, veterinary technicians and other personnel are trained to the highest standards. Their knowledge of the latest veterinary medicines and procedures ensures that all our pet patients get the best in prevention and healing methods. We are accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association, and have been since 1974. This means that we are voluntarily inspected in areas such as medical record-keeping, pain management, diagnostic equipment, radiology, surgery, dentistry, and the safety of our facility.

Local Medical Issues

Having a pet is a wonderful experience. However, there are some zoonotic diseases that you should be aware of. These are diseases that can be transferred from animals to humans, including intestinal parasites, leptospirosis, rabies and tick-borne diseases. There are things we can and should do to protect our pets and our human family members from these diseases. Pets can be protected from many diseases by vaccinations and year-round prevention.

Intestinal parasites can be transmitted through contaminated soil and fecal matter. To protect your pets, they should be on year-round parasite protection such as Interceptor and Revolution. You should have your pet's stool sample checked at least twice a year to make sure they aren’t infected and shedding parasites. Humans should wash their hands after gardening or playing outside.

Heartworm disease effects both dogs AND CATS. It is a deadly disease that is transmitted by a mosquito and can be prevented. Both dogs and cats need to be on year-round preventatives such as Interceptor and Revolution.
